Trendsetting metaverse, Decentraland, will roll out the red carpet for the first-ever movie premier in the virtual sphere. Alongside MakersPlace, they will host the debut screening of “Break the Bars,” a spoken word offering from pioneering director, David Bianchi.
In a first for the virtual frontier, Decentraland will screen a genuine movie premier, setting the tone for others to follow. The event will begin with a live Q&A from director David Bianchi, with the movie following soon afterwards. Furthermore, eager movie fans can follow proceedings live in Decentraland, or via Discord.
Promising to be a raw and passionate critique of suburban society, Break the Bars is a gritty exploration of inner-city youth and the trials they endure on a day-to-day basis. Once started, the feature will loop for 24 hours, allowing late comers to get in on the action.
Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to win an exclusive limited-edition NFT from the drop. A Twitter giveaway aims to reward the best-dressed movie goer at the cinematic celebration. Following the screening at 5PM PT on September 23 at the MakersPlace gallery in Decentraland’s Voltaire district, the film will drop on the MakersPlace marketplace on September 24. All attendees are also eligible for a free personalized POAP.
